Each month, our partner school districts submit glowing reviews of our employees, from which we select four employees of the month. We’re pleased to recognize our honorees from December 2020!
Glitters Dawson
Marion School District, AR
Glitters was nominated by Marion Math, Science & Technology Magnet School Principal Alexia Weimer, who wrote: “Glitters Dawson began as a sub in our building in August. Right away, she became one of our ‘go-to’ subs. Ms. Dawson shows up in big ways for our students and the staff at our school. She follows the plans left by the teacher, engages students, and takes initiative to fill in where needed without being asked. She has become an honorary MST employee and goes above and beyond the call of duty. She gets to know the students both personally and academically. She has been a huge asset to our building this year. Ms. Dawson is an exceptional employee and deserves to be celebrated and recognized!”
Alyssabeth Lafferty
Denton Independent School District, TX
Alyssabeth was nominated by Denton ISD Special Education Teacher Stephen Roberts, who wrote: “Mrs. Lafferty is always available when we need her. She is exceptional when working with the students. Not only does she assist them with the comprehension of the content, but she motivates and helps them see what they are truly capable of. Anyone would be lucky to have her in their classroom.“
Taylor Cole
Stanly County Schools, NC
Taylor was nominated by Stanly County Schools Secretary Kristi Hall, who wrote: “Taylor has been an outstanding new sub. She is very alert in the classroom and follows each teacher’s instructions. What sets her apart from all the other subs is that she helps out other teachers when the students go home. Taylor always stays and helps out our entire school wherever she’s needed. We love having her here at WSMS!“
Donna VanBlunk
Pennsbury School District, PA
Donna was nominated by Fallsington Elementary School Principal Vinny DePaola, who wrote: “Donna is our building substitute through ESS. She has been with us since the start of this crazy school year. From the start, she has been willing to help out in any way. She quickly learned how to use the Google Suite application in order to fill in for teachers virtually, in-person, or those doing both in a hybrid model. Due to our shortage of substitutes throughout the district, Donna has often had to fill in for teachers in other buildings on very short notice. In many of these situations, there were few plans available due to the situation we’re in with the pandemic. The staff and I at Fallsington Elementary are very glad to have Donna as our building substitute through ESS.”
