After receiving more than 850 submissions throughout the country, we couldn’t be more excited to announce the winners of the 2021 ESS Art Contest! We asked K-12 students to create original artwork representing the theme: “What would it be like to go to school for superheroes?”
Seven ESS judges scored each submission based on artistic and technical skill, originality, adherence to theme and requirements, unique approach, and creativity of title. Five finalists were selected from each grade group (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12) based on the highest average scores from the judges.
The finalists’ artwork was then posted on ESS Facebook and Instagram pages, and we asked the public to help us select the winners by voting for their favorite pieces. After a week of voting, we combined the judge’s scores with social media likes to determine this year’s winners.
