We had to share this amazing thank you note from a very thoughtful elementary school student from the Derry Township School District (one of our partners in PA). Students were asked to write a thank you note to a teacher as part of a display for the school’s annual “Young Learners Night.” This student decided to thank her substitutes.
And what an insightful note it is! It is no small feat to enter a new classroom every day, jump into random lesson plans, figure out classroom procedures, and work with so many new students. Yet, our substitutes are out in the field doing just that – and they don’t always get the recognition they deserve.
This note is a testament to the fact that substitutes are not only valued by ESS and the school districts they support, they also make a significant impact on the students they help each and every day.
Thank you, Claire, for your kind words, and thank you to the Derry Township School District for sharing this with us!
