Activities to Celebrate Black History Month

Black History Month Classroom Activities As February is Black History Month, this is an excellent time of year to celebrate the culture, heritage, and achievements of African Americans – throughout history and in modern times!

The National Education Association (NEA) features a web page titled: Black History Month Lessons & Resources which offers a wealth of relevant content for every grade level.

Plunge into the landmark supreme court case Brown v. Board of Education in a “Separate is Not Equal” activity. Listen to jazz music and share poetry by African American authors. Research famous African American inventors, athletes, scientists, reformers, and more.
