We’re Excited to Launch Our Video Contest!
It takes a fantastic team to ensure that every day counts for students nationwide, and we know you have plenty of stories to share. That’s why we’re excited to invite ESS employees to participate in our video contest. This contest is all about creativity, originality, and fun. Show us your unique style, humor, and heartfelt storytelling by submitting a video about your experience as part of the ESS community. Whether you’re sharing what inspired you to become a substitute, a meaningful classroom moment, or an unexpected perk of the job, we want to hear your story.
Create
We’re seeking creative video submissions from everyone at ESS. Daily, long-term, building-based, virtual substitutes, permanent placements, and corporate employees are all eligible to enter. You don’t need professional equipment or a perfectly produced video—we’re looking for your authentic self and your real experiences. Feel free to invite other ESS employees or staff members at your favorite school to join you in your video.
Submit
- All videos submitted must be original and created by you.
- Students should not be included in your video. Any videos that include students will be disqualified.
- Video Length: Videos must be under three minutes long.
- Submission Deadline: To be eligible, submit your video through the form on this page by Sunday, April 5, 2026 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.

- A Moment That Mattered: Share a classroom moment that made you think, “This is why I do this.”
- The Hidden Perks: What’s one benefit of substitute teaching that you didn’t expect when you first started?
- Three Words: Describe being a substitute teacher in three words—and explain why you chose them.
Win
Five participants will be randomly selected as winners, and each winner will receive a $100 gift card. We’ll announce the winners after the contest closes—so be sure to submit your video before the deadline!
