Last week marked the National Education Association’s (NEA) American Education Week, and to celebrate, ESS|Source4Teachers & MissionOne awarded our 4th Annual Impact Awards! The Impact Award was created in 2014 to recognize one substitute employee and one permanent employee based on total number of days worked in a one-year period (for substitutes), feedback from our partner school district(s), and a commitment to exceed expectations.
Our incredible 2017 winners go above and beyond their assigned duties every day, making an impact on the schools and students they serve. Both winners were recognized at their schools, where they were presented with a $500 cash prize, an additional $500 to donate to the school of their choice, and a crystal apple trophy.
ESS|Source4Teachers 2017 Impact Award Winner:
Dolores Shank – Big Spring School District, PA
Dolores was hired by ESS|Source4Teachers in September 2015 and has since worked 210 assignments at the Big Spring School District, with 22 more assignments scheduled through March 2018. Before retiring in 2004, she served the district as a full-time math teacher.
“Mrs. Shank is an amazing and dedicated educator who relates well to students and is greatly respected by our staff,” said Big Spring High School Principal, Bill August. “She is flexible and able to adapt to whatever instructional setting in which she’s placed. We are lucky to have her in our building and, as a building administrator, I know that wherever she is on any given day, learning is going to take place in her classroom.”

ESS|MissionOne 2017 Impact Award Winner:
Clare McMahon – Glen Rock Public Schools, NJ
Hired in 2011, Clare works as an aide at the Richard E. Byrd Elementary School in Glen Rock covering grades K-5. District Manager Tom Basehore, felt Clare deserved this award because, “She plays an important role in providing high-quality support services for the students and faculty. She provides the consistency that her students need, never misses a day of school, and even works during the summer months to support students in an Extended School Year Program.”
“Clare is the backbone of support for the teachers and students at our school,” said Richard E. Byrd Elementary School Principal, Dr. Linda Weber. “She is the foundation for many of the projects that the teachers conceive of and design. They often seek her help in accomplishing an undertaking, especially when there are multiple components to an activity.”
