Last week, ESS recruiters went above and beyond to recruit substitute teachers at a job fair in New Milford, Connecticut. New Milford School District, along with several others in the Connecticut area, have a high demand for substitute teachers for the upcoming school year.
Throughout the year, the ESS team in Connecticut has been ramping up recruitment efforts – from social media to college hiring events. Schools expect increased absences come fall, as teachers and school staff become more cautious about coming to work while sick. To ensure coverage, the team is actively recruiting all summer to add more employees to their substitute pool in the area.
During a recent job fair, ESS Regional Manager Beth Salaris went so far as to dress up as the fictional character, Ms. Frizzle from “The Magic School Bus”. Her goal was to draw attention and get job fair visitors interested in learning more about becoming a substitute teacher, and she surely succeeded!
“Despite the rain from Hurricane Elsa, interested applicants came out and were enthusiastic to learn about different opportunities to substitute with ESS for the District. After the event, we received several applications for the area,” said Beth.
Furthermore, the team plans to host additional job fairs in hopes of acquiring more interested applicants. The next scheduled event is for Manchester School District on Thursday, July 29th from 10 am to 2 pm. The fair will take place at Manchester High School. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about substitute teaching, come out and meet our team or apply today!
