ESS is proud to announce that it will officially join the Military Spouse Employment Partnership (MSEP), a program within the Department of Defense’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities initiative. This exciting milestone will be celebrated during an induction ceremony on January 30, 2026, at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.
By joining MSEP, ESS becomes one of 168 new organizations dedicated to this effort, adding to a network of more than 1,000 employers committed to recruiting, hiring, promoting, and retaining military spouses in meaningful careers.
“Providing career opportunities for military spouses isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s a strategic choice.” expressed ESS VP of Operations Samantha Hummer. “Their skills, adaptability, and diverse perspectives enhance our teams and help ESS deliver exceptional support to the schools and districts we serve.”
Military spouses bring unique skills, adaptability, and a wealth of experience to the workforce. However, they often face employment challenges linked to military life, including frequent relocations. According to the biennial Survey of Active Duty Spouses, military spouses experience an unemployment rate of 20%. This is among the highest in the country.
Through MSEP, military spouses gain access to employers committed to supporting their professional growth and success. Providing military spouse employment opportunities strengthens the financial stability of military families. It also contributes to force retention and military readiness, which are key elements of national security.
ESS is proud to join this important initiative and commits to supporting and empowering military spouses nationwide. By fostering military spouse employment and career growth, ESS is helping military families thrive.
