Each month, our partner school districts submit glowing reviews about excellent ESS | Source4Teachers and MissionOne employees, from which we select an employee of the month from each organization. We’re pleased to honor our January AND February winners!
JANUARY WINNERS!
Source4Excellence Winner: Rebecca Whigham, Pennsylvania
Rebecca started substituting with ESS | Source4Teachers at the onset of the 2017/2018 school year. She did an exemplary job in her long-term assignment, teaching English at the Big Spring High School. She was nominated by Sharon Hoover, program coordinator at Big Spring.
“Rebecca did an amazing job standing in for our high school English teacher. She created a unit on the American Indian School in Carlisle and organized three guest speakers (including Matt Barcaro to discuss his documentary) for our classes while she was in her long-term substitute position. She ate lunch in her room in order to be able to meet with vo-tech students who needed extra help during “C” lunch. She really went above and beyond the duties of a day to day sub.” said Hoover.
Mission of Excellence Winner: Lori DiGiovanni, New Jersey
Lori serves as a reliable and high-performing MissionOne aide at the South River Primary School. She was nominated by Robin Howells, a secretary at the district’s superintendents office, and we received the following words of praise from South River Primary School Teacher Jamie Latraverse:
“Lori has been my paraprofessional for the past five years. As a former special education teacher, she is extremely creative, patient, and insightful. Lori connects with the students by modifying assignments in specials and working with them in both the regular education and resource room. She has an excellent rapport with the students, staff, and parents in the community. Lori has three children in the South River School District and volunteers as a cheer coach for the South River Knights. I am fortunate to have her as both my friend and co-worker.” said Latraverse.
FEBRUARY WINNERS!
Source4Excellence Winner: Marshall Marcus, Connecticut
Marshall joined the ESS | Source4Teachers family in February 2015. Since then, he’s worked 507 assignments at Bridgeport Public schools and already has 56 more days scheduled through the end of the 2017/2018 school year! He was nominated by Blackham Elementary School Assistant Principal, Eric Sigman.
“Marshall has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable, caring, and reasonable. He goes above and beyond his expected duties, including assisting with lunch duty during his break. It is for these reasons and more that I strongly recommend Marshall Marcus for employee of the month.” said Sigman.
Mission of Excellence Winner: Jarron Nelson, New Jersey
Jarron started working for ESS | MissionOne at the Burlington Township Middle School in October 2013. He currently works as a dedicated one-to-one aide and was nominated for this award by the school’s vice principal for being so consistent and reliable. ESS | MissionOne Area Manager Daina Norman shared some accolades for Jarron:
“Jarron Nelson has the ability to meet a student on his or her level. This ability helps to establish a level of trust and buy-in from the student, so that the student will work hard and accomplish individual goals in order to make Mr. Nelson proud. Jarron works just as hard for the students as they do for him. He is an excellent aide for whom above and beyond is the threshold to exceed on an ongoing basis.” said Norman.
Congratulations Rebbeca, Lori, Marshall, and Jarron – and keep up the excellent work!
