Each month, our partner school districts submit glowing reviews of our employees, from which we select four employees of the month. We’re pleased to recognize our honorees from January 2022!
Donna Carey
BLaST Intermediate Unit, PA
Donna was nominated by Regional Manager, Danelle Wagner, who wrote: “Donna has been an asset to the BLaST Intermediate Unit and BLaST classrooms. She started with ESS in 2015 and has worked over 700 assignments for the local districts. She has picked up multiple long-term assignments, is flexible with us as we ask her to maneuver through assignments, and changes her plans to prioritize where the districts and the teachers want her because of the amazing job that she does. She gives 100% every day she works, she adores the kids that she teaches and makes it a point to pick up assignments with them so that she can teach them again. Donna is an outstanding substitute with a work ethic that is priceless! Not only does our team respect her and the job she does, the BLaST team of supervisors appreciates her dedication to the students and their education.”
Robert Tester
Winston-Salem/Forsyth Schools, NC
Robert was nominated by the lead secretary at Kernersville Middle School, Anita Lineville, who wrote: “Mr. Tester has been a wonderful sub at KMS for years. I am nominating Mr. Tester because he makes our work life so much easier. He is always here and always early. No matter what we ask of him, he is always up for the tasks. He always goes above and beyond and does anything we ask him to do, with a smile. He is always on time and usually here before I arrive. He never misses a day. He takes the time to get to know our students and they know he’s there for them when they need him. Ask anyone at Kernersville Middle and they will tell you that, “WE ARE SO BLESSED TO HAVE HIM AT THE HAWKS NEST.”
James Tolbert
Tarrant City Schools, AL
James was nominated by the Principal of Tarrant High School, Randall Jackson, who wrote: “Mr. Tolbert has a knack for helping students. He is always available and the students really appreciate him. Whenever I speak to him, he only speaks favorably of the students and he is truly an encourager of them and getting them on track to graduation. I cannot think of a more worthy candidate for this recognition. Mr. Tolbert is retired but has a heart for helping and truly goes above and beyond in helping our students. He even gives of his free time, without pay, to help students both in school and outside.”
Deborah Willis-Koch
