Each month, our partner school districts submit glowing reviews of our employees, from which we select four employees of the month. We’re pleased to recognize our honorees from September 2022!
Anna Pelillo
New Milford Public Schools, CT
Anna was nominated by Kimberly Valzania, Secretary to the Principal at Northville Elementary School, who wrote: “Mrs. Pelillo is a WONDERFUL person! She comes to work each day with a bright smile and a ‘can do’ attitude. The one thing we always value in our substitute pool is the ability of the sub to adjust to sudden gear switching, and know where he, or she, is needed the most. Work ethic is important too, and Anna is reliable, communicative, trustworthy, and always right on time. She is a favorite among staff, and students alike. Anna became a US citizen last year, and we had a huge congratulatory party for her – which only goes to show how well-liked she is around Northville School. She frequently puts the needs of the students (and staff) ahead of her own and offers to take a duty even when she’s done her fair share. We love Mrs. Pelillo – she is a stellar employee who represents ESS quite well!”
Jennifer Cottingham
Santa Rosa County District Schools, FL
Jennifer was nominated by Paula Dees, Bookkeeper at Bagdad Elementary School who wrote: “Oh my goodness!! What a joy and pleasure it was to have her at Bagdad!! She called to see if it was too late to begin her day. It is never too late! She drove 30 mins to help us for the day. She came in with a willingness, and eagerness to help us! Things had changed since she called, and a change of plans set into play. WOW is all I can say about her attitude!! She jumped right into a classroom that desperately needed her. She not only helped, but she volunteered to go back in that classroom! She was such a huge help with graciousness and kindness that was so refreshing! She was put in our path, and I am personally grateful. She is welcome at Bagdad anytime she is available!! It is a pleasure to recommend her for a substitute of the month! I’m sure she will be snatched up quickly for a permanent position at some school! What a true joy! Thank you ESS for giving me the opportunity to give a shout out to someone so deserving of a crown!! Thank you again, Jennifer Cottingham!!”
Sara Dann
Chambersburg Area School District, PA
Sara was nominated by Gloria Weagly, Building Secretary at Chambersburg Area Senior High School, who wrote: “There are so many qualities about this sub that make her an excellent choice for employee of the month. Sara always goes above and beyond her duties to assist staff and students. She assists new subs to the building in getting to their location, always willing to cover classes when needed. She has a bright and shining smile when she arrives and makes sure she says hello to everyone. Sara also assists us with graduation, serving as line proctor, ticket taker, usher or wherever we may need her. She truly enjoys watching our students grow and walk across that stage and this makes her even more valuable to our building.”
Nancy Rogers
Brenham ISD, TX
Nancy was nominated by Mary Kroll, STEM Teacher at Krause Elementary School, who wrote: “Many times, teachers would rather come to work sick, put off appointments and avoid getting a sub at all cost. That is, unless you are fortunate enough to get Mrs. Rogers as your sub! I know that when I see Mrs. Rogers in a class, it will be run just as it would if the teacher was there. She follows your plans, but is also able to find an alternative lesson if technology goes down, an unannounced drill occurs, or for some crazy reason, the schedule is switched around at the last minute. I know all these things because I have seen her handle them with ease. The students respect her, and love her just as they do their regular teacher and most will ask, “can we please get Mrs. Rogers?” when they know a teacher is going to be out. They know that she does not play, and she follows through with clear expectations, and consequences, but she is the kindest person that loves children with her whole heart. #TheRealMVP!”
